The Challenge: Zero-Downtime Tenant Transition

Following corporate acquisitions of Lumen and Edgio customer bases, 150+ enterprise media, gaming, and e-commerce companies needed their multi-petabyte object storage assets and CDN configurations migrated to Akamai.

These companies had live 24/7 web and streaming traffic. The migration required continuous background replication with zero downtime, zero packet loss, and immediate origin failover capabilities.

Automated Pipelines & Edge Interceptors

We developed automated multi-threaded sync pipelines that ingested source storage buckets into Akamai (Linode) Object Storage while comparing SHA checksums to ensure 100% data fidelity.

Dynamic edge routing rules were deployed to intercept incoming CDN origin requests, intelligently fetching from the new storage layer while transparently falling back to legacy storage during mid-migration sync windows.
